Yesterday we got the result we had hoped for when the new Guidance for sewage companies in Wales was published. Later this year DEFRA will be deciding whether to adopt the same guidance in England.
The big change that we had campaigned for, is that caravans and day rooms WILL be treated like buildings when the water companies decide whether they have a duty to provide a sewer for residents, where there is environmental damage occurring.
Nothing will change very quickly – the guidance in England may come out fairly soon, but the next step after that would be another petition like we presented in 2007, and if it is successful the water company then has up to 7 years to provide a sewer!Leave a comment
